I decided to take a quick walk after my workout earlier this week to explore my neighborhood - I'm always zooming by stores while driving back and forth, but haven't been exploring on foot in a while.
Boy, am I glad I did - quite a few gorgeous boutiques have popped up in the past few months - one of which is a small Aesop store. I had heard about the brand (and had discovered it through Instagram and Pinterest due to their simple, monochromatic packaging) but I'd never tried any of their products. If you aren't familiar with Aesop yet, take a peek at their website - intriguing and inspiring to say the least! Aside from the perfect union of natural ingredients and the latest in skincare research, they also have one of those exceptional business models that is about so much more than just selling products - as their website states: "Alongside our commercial activities, we explore and support the arts as an avenue through which to inspire, learn and communicate." What's not to love about that?!
The minute I stepped into the store I found myself becoming more calm - the gorgeous scent of the products, the lighting, the minimal packaging - all of it working together in such stark contrast to the hot, bustling street outside. Soon after entering, a warm greeting from the friendly (read: refreshingly not snooty) Aesop rep kick-started my intro to their amazing products. After a chat about my skin and what I might like to try, I ended up picking up some of the Damascan Rose Facial Treatment, with ten plant extracts and vitamins A & E.
I have been using the oil for the last few days and wow, it's incredible! I have dry skin and most of the time I use two moisturizers. This oil is incredibly hydrating, and it works well on its own, or by adding a few drops to my regular moisturizer. It absorbs beautifully without leaving a greasy feeling, while still making my skin feel super-soft. And the scent...heavenly!
They were very generous and gave me some samples of other items (not like I needed an excuse to get hooked!) The Parsley Seed Facial Cleansing Oil and Toner work really well and are incredibly soothing and the Fabulous Face Oil is a great everyday treatment that I think I might need to get too!
Needless to say - my first foray in the world of Aesop has been a great one. Can't wait to try a few more! What about you - have you tried Aesop products? Which ones are your favorites?
