I love watches. If there was ever a place for form and function to come together and create art, watches are it. I lean toward the minimal styles - Daniel Wellington, Cluse, Skagen - but I recently was lucky enough to score a watch from The 5th and I am absolutely loving it!
I'm a sucker for young companies that have a great story and business model and The 5th is definitely that - in their own words:
'The products we offer, people we work with, places we go, things we do, all centre on a common goal: inspiring people to want and get more out of life. To go after what you love. And to make the most of every moment. Because worse than finding out, is wondering ‘what if?’
All of their designs are stunning - similar in their minimalist style, they range from the classic white face with black strap, to all black, or rose gold with nude strap. The interesting part is - they are only available for sale 5 days a month, starting on the 5th.
I snagged the 'New York Classic - Upper East'. I love that its got a large face diameter, with a really thin profile. And even better - it comes with two straps, one black and one grey - could it be any more perfect?
And don't get me started on the packaging - a stunning black linen box with metal branding and accents, with the watch and extra strap nestled perfectly inside. What a treat to receive. The next sale starts in a few days - just sayin'... ;-)
